Heartbreaking Disaster in Hong Kong

A shockingly huge fire engulfed 7 residential blocks in Tai Po, killing over a hundred and sending thousands homeless. We are deeply saddened by this devastating disaster. The blocks are under renovation work, bamboo scaffolding are erected together with green debris netting. Law requires flame-retardant netting. Residents complained long ago that non-compliant cheaper netting was used, only met with deaf ears of regulation authorities. The lesson is clear: greed, government administrative failure resulting in regulation non-enforcement kill! On the other hand, the bright side of human nature is demonstrated. Firemen fought bravely around the clock, with one sacrificed his precious life, volunteers quickly assembled a human chain to transport rescue supplies, nearby shops open to collect donated supplies, living essentials and monetary donations are pouring in. Our hearts are with the dead, the injured, and those who have lose their homes.
